EEO-1
Report - Major Changes Proposed top ^
The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has proposed
several changes to the EEO-1 Report (Standard Form 100). Included
in the changes is an expanded list of race/ethnicity categories
(Hispanic of any race(s) or Non-Hispanic White, Black, Asian, Native
Hawaiian or Other Pacific Islander, and American Indian or Alaska Native)
and a separate category of employees who have identified as being
in multiple race categories. The proposed changes also include a
rearrangement of and addition to the EEO-1 job categories. Information
on the specific changes can be found on the EEOC website at www.eeoc.gov/eeo1.
Maly & Associates will submit comments to the EEOC on the proposed
changes before the August 11 deadline and welcome any comments from
our clients and associates. Any change in the EEO-1 race/ethnicity
and job categories will not occur until at least 2004.
EEO-1 Report Electronic Reporting
Changed top ^
The Joint Reporting Committee website has changed and, according
to the EEOC, a new web-based filing system will replace the interactive
diskette. Unfortunately, the EEOC will not publicly release further
information on the 2003 EEO-1 reporting system until July 15 (www.eeoc.gov/eeo1survey).
We will let you know as soon as information becomes available.
EO
Survey Used to Schedule Compliance Reviews top ^
In an effort to determine how they will utilize the EO Survey, the
OFCCP will be scheduling compliance reviews with approximately 2,000
of the respondents to the 2002 EO Survey. The contractors scheduled
for review will be randomly selected from the approximately 10,000
contractors who were sent the EO Survey at the end of last year.
This may mean, given the OFCCP's limited resources, that those contractors
who did not receive a survey will be less likely to receive a compliance
review in the second half of this year.
VETS-100
Report to Remain the Same in 2003 top ^
The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has approved the VETS-100
Report in its current (2002) format for use in 2003. Therefore,
the Newly Separated Veterans category will remain optional in 2003.
In related news, the Veterans' Employment and Training advisory
committee has recommended that the VETS-100 reporting requirement
be discontinued. However, if the VETS-100 report is continued, we
can expect several changes to the category definitions and the requirements
for participation (see the 2002 Jobs for Veterans Act at www.nvti.cudenver.edu/107_288/Main.htm)
in the next few years. As with all proposed and anticipated changes,
we recommend that contractors wait until the requirements are finalized
before making any system or procedure changes.
If you have any questions about any of the information presented
here or have comments regarding the proposed changes to the EEO-1
Report, please give us a call. We are happy to discuss any of the
reporting changes and what they will mean for you.
