Compliance Alert

America's Job Bank is Closing Down -
What Action Should You Take?

America's Job Bank, a free service provided through the Department of Labor (DOL), will be phased out and no longer available on July 1, 2007. Furthermore, the DOL has announced that contractors have until June 15 to request records that might be needed to verify compliance during an Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) audit.

There are several actions you should take to prepare your company for the loss of this resource. If you have not already done so, ensure that all necessary records have been downloaded from America's Job Bank before June 15. Otherwise they will not be available to you in the event of an audit. Also, identify alternative resources for meeting the mandatory job listing requirements. The Job Bank has provided the following link to help make this process more convenient:

There is also a movement in the private sector to provide another "one stop" resource similar to America's Job Bank at a low cost. As covered in our Compliance Alert from April 30, 2007, DirectEmployers Association has launched their JobCentral web site, which includes the BETA testing webiste VETS Central:
