The
Department of Labor's Office of Federal Contract Compliance
Programs (OFCCP) has announced that beginning on November
27th, 2006 the agency's regional offices will begin scheduling
audits from its new (FY2007) listing of contractors. The new
list covers approximately 2000 facilities that have either
self-identified as being an establishment of a Federal contractor,
or have been identified as such by the OFCCP.
Forget holiday greeting cards. Corporate Scheduling Announcement
Letters (CSALs) have already been mailed to many Chief Executive
Officers that have more than one establishment on the list.
You may want to alert your CEO's office. If you are currently
being audited, have been audited during the past 24 months,
or have received the Secretary of Labor's Opportunity Award
or an Exemplary Voluntary Efforts Award within the last three
years, you are probably safe this year (i.e. your establishment
will most likely not show up on the list).
Not all facilities that are scheduled will actually be audited.
Likewise, in some cases an unscheduled audit may occur based
on factors such as contract award notices, individual complaints,
subsequent scheduling releases, and conciliation agreement
monitoring processes.
If you have any questions or comments, or would like us to
assist you in an OFCCP audit by compiling and analyzing the
necessary data and submitting it to the OFCCP on your behalf,
please give us a call.
