Deadline Extended for VETS
Reporting
The
deadline for filing VETS-100 and VETS-100A reports has been extended to
October 31, 2009. This extension is according to a message on the
Department of Labor’s (DOL) VETS-100 help line at 301-586-1580. While
their website still gives September 30, 2009 as the deadline for filing the
reports, the telephone help line is stating an extended deadline of October
31, 2009.
As
many of you know, the DOL has experienced numerous problems with its
on-line system this year. The system is new, due to the new VETS-100A
form requirements. Some of the problems with their system included
not being able to register, contact information populating the system from
several years ago, and not being able to edit the reports. In the
past few days, it has been nearly impossible to reach someone at the DOL’s
help line for VETS-100 reporting. The extension in the deadline will
come as welcome news to those of you encountering problems with the new
